Bee Swarms: What They Are and What to Do at the Olive Free Library

  • Olive Free Library 4033 New York 28A West Shokan, NY, 12494 United States (map)

Join local beekeeper Rob Overton of Hudson Valley Hives for an informative and engaging program about one of the most fascinating sights in the beekeeping world: a honey bee swarm.

Rob will give a 30-minute presentation explaining why bees swarm, and what you should (and shouldn’t) do if you encounter a swarm. Rob will share practical guidance on how to respond safely and when to call a beekeeper.

The talk will be followed by 30 minutes of Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions. This program is suitable for anyone curious about bees, whether you’re a gardener, nature lover, or simply want to know what to do if a swarm appears nearby.
