Ulster County Read & Win Program

We are thrilled to announce that we are participating in the Ulster County Fair Read & Win Program!

The Ulster County Fair and Agricultural Society is excited for you to participate in our 2026 Read & Win Program, designed to encourage children throughout our community to discover the joy of reading. This program benefits students in grades Pre K through 8 by motivating them to read library books between April 6th and June 14th, 2026.

Here is how the program works:

  1. Beginning Wednesday April 1, visit the Olive Free Library or any of the other participating libraries in Ulster County: Cragsmoor, Ellenville, Elting Memorial, Gardiner, Marlboro, Olive, Plattekill, Saugerties, Wallkill and Woodstock. 

  2. Pick up your NYS Frequent Fairgoers Official Passport provided by NYS Ag & Markets and Read and Win Bookmark Ribbon provided by International Association of Fairs and Expos (IAFE) & National Independent Concessionaires Association (NICA).

  3. Read 8 books from April-June. Each time you take out a book(s), bring your passport to get stamped (max. of 4 stamps per visit). You may collect more than 8 stamps; this is just the minimum to complete the program.

The program ends on June 14 and participants must visit the library a minimum of 2 times.

Those who complete the program will receive:

  • All kids under 10 get FREE ADMISSION to the Ulster County Fair starting in 2026 and will earn 1 additional fair admission for their parent or guardian. 

  • Kids over 10 will also earn free admission as well as 1 additional fair admission for their parent or guardian. There is a maximum of 2 parents/guardian tickets per family.

  • A Coupon for a HALF PRICE unlimited ride bracelet.

  • An Ulster County Fair Drawstring backpack filled with goodies, including coupons for free or reduced items from our concessionaires and vendors.

One child will be drawn at random to win the GRAND PRIZE: 

  • A 4-pack of Fair admission tickets

  • 4 Unlimited Ride Wristbands

  • A food bundle coupon, including a Large Pizza, 4 Hot Pretzels & 4 Drinks courtesy of Vinnie's Fine Foods

  • A Read & Win Grand Prize Winner Banner and VIP Seating for the event or concert on the day you visit!
